  • The World Health Organization (WHO) has officially announced the continuation of the international commission "WHO Civil society working group". This global committee of civil society has the role of advising the Director General of the WHO and support in particular the success of the following 2 objectives:
In 2018, the United Nations General Assembly organized the third high-level meeting on NCD prevention and care, which provided a comprehensive review of the global progress in this area.
  • Prepare for the United Nations Summit on the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) which will take place on September 23, 2019 during its general assembly.
This high-level meeting of the United Nations will be the last chance to mobilize, before 2023, at the halfway point of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), the widest political support possible in order to bring together the entire health program under the umbrella of the UHC and to support investments in health in a harmonized manner. To do this, it is essential to determine how the political declaration on the UHC can add value to these efforts and set the milestones towards the achievement of the UHC by 2030.
